Clinical research company Kendle International Inc. said Monday it named Stephen Cutler president and CEO to replace Dr. Candace Kendle.
Cutler, 51, is currently a senior vice president and chief operating officer. Kendle, 64 and a co-founder of Kendle, will continue to serve as chairman of the board of directors.
Meanwhile, Jamie Macdonald will take the chief operating officer position. He has been working at clinical research company Quintiles Transnational Corp. for 16 years, most recently as senior vice president and head of global project management.
The changes are effective May 1.
Also, the company said Christopher Bergen will leave his position as executive vice president and chief accounting officer on May1, but will remain on the board.
Shares in Kendle rose 32 cents, or 2.7 percent, to close Monday at $12.09.
