Massachusetts state officials, industry groups, life sciences companies and educational institutions will have a dual purpose when they go to the BIO International Convention in Washington, D.C., in June. As in previous years, they will be touting Massachusetts as a place for biotechs to set up shop, but they also will be promoting the 2012 version of BIO, which will be returning to Boston, where the show drew 23,000 attendees in 2007.

The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, representing the state, and the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council, representing the biotech sector, are hosting a 2,400-square-foot pavilion at BIO 2011.
