This October the Spine Technology Awards will recognize the best spine products, engineering teams and inventors for 2012. The first awards of their kind, the Fourth Annual Spine Technology Awards will focus exclusively on rewarding excellence and innovation.
Awards will be presented in five categories: device technologies for Cervical Care, Thoracolumbar Care, Motion Preservation of the Spine, Minimally Invasive Spine Care, Biomaterials and Biologics.
Any company that produces products for use in spine surgery may enter in one or more of the five categories. Judging by surgeons will be based on originality, clinical relevance, and the likelihood that the technology will improve current standards of care. The deadline for submission of entries is August 31, 2012. The winning entries will be revealed in Dallas, October 24-27, 2012.
Presented by Orthopedics This Week, the premier online orthopedics newsletter, and RRY Publications, the Spine Technology Awards are intended to bring increased recognition to exemplary and innovative spine surgery products and the engineering teams and inventors who create them.
In the words of Orthopedics This Week founder Robin Young, "Patients, physicians, hospitals, and reimbursers rely on the inspiration and perspiration of engineers and surgeon-inventors to improve outcomes and to control costs. Most engineers and inventors are little known, so we are proud to provide awards and a venue to recognize their great talents and contributions." For more information about the Awards or to obtain an entry form, contact Suzanne Kirchner at firstname.lastname@example.org.
