Former Vice President Dick Cheney has little love for the medical device tax, which he called a "dumb" idea during a recent appearance at the National Press Club in Washington.

Cheney openly criticized the levy, a 2.3% sales tax on sales of U.S. medical devices, citing it as an example of poor crafting of the Affordable Care Act as a whole.
