A slew of additional medical device makers promise to make the physiological data gathered by their technologies open and available to anyone and everyone with an interest in patient safety.

Nearly 30 device makers pledge to share data and foster interoperability

The growing Patients Safety Movement has more than doubled its commitments from medtech companies over the course of a single year, with nearly 30 companies promising so far to make the data gathered by their devices available to anyone interested in improving patient care.

The group at this time last year announced the 1st 9 medtech pledgers, including companies such as GE Healthcare Systems (NYSE:GE) and Zoll Medical (NSDQ:ZOLL). The new list includes titans such as Philips Healthcare (NYSE:PHG) and smaller groups such as opthalmic devices maker NeurOptics.
