Dental equipment maker Sirona Dental Systems Inc. said Tuesday its fiscal third-quarter net income fell 19 percent on higher expenses.
The company reported net income of $16.6 million, or 29 cents per share, for the three months ended June 30, down from $20.5 million, or 37 cents per share, a year ago.
Revenue rose 1 percent to $182.4 million from $180.6 million.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected net income of 50 cents per share on $186.2 million in revenue.
During the quarter, the company recorded a $6 million loss on foreign currency transactions and a $2.6 million loss on derivative investments.
