Cantel Medical Corp., which makes products used to prevent infections, said Wednesday its fiscal fourth-quarter profit rose 8 percent as sales grew in the company's endoscope reprocessing and water purification divisions.
Cantel said its net income rose to $4.6 million, or 27 cents per share, in the three months ended July 31 from $4.3 million, or 26 cents per share, a year earlier. Revenue rose 4.5 percent to $69.8 million from $66.8 million.
According to Thomson Reuters, analysts expected earnings of 25 cents per share, on average.
Cantel said sales from its endoscope reprocessing unit rose 34 percent while sales from the water purification unit rose 16 percent.
For the full fiscal year, the company earned $19.9 million, or $1.18 per share, up from $15.6 million, or 94 cents per share, a year ago. Revenue rose to $274 million from $260.1 million.
Cantel stock rose 32 cents, or 1.9 percent, to $17.08 in morning trading. The stock has traded between $13.39 and $21.85 over the last 52 weeks.
