CHERRY’s new EZClean 4100 keyboard features a smooth silicone cover that is easy to clean with most standard medical cleansers and disinfecting wipes, while also providing an exceptional tactile feel for typists. The patent-pending EZClean keyboard is targeted at medical providers looking to reduce the spread of healthcare-acquired infections. Three types of bacteria can survive on keyboards in hospital environments, with some bacteria still viable up to 24 hours after contamination. A recent study concluded that keyboard covers lead to a reduction in keyboard contaminations, particularly when combined with regular cleaning policies.
Standard keyboards can be difficult to clean, vulnerable to germs and bacteria growth, especially in hard to clean areas between the keys. CHERRY’s EZClean keyboard provides a smooth silicone surface that’s easy to clean with the swipe of a disinfecting wipe, while providing a barrier to keep germs and bacteria out of hard to clean areas. The EZClean is based upon our proven, G84-4100 keyboards with ML mechanical keyswitch technology, delivering an excellent tactile feel in a convenient, compact eleven inch size. The base keyboard is tested to more than 20 million keystroke actuations, while the replaceable silicone cover provides life of more than 3 million actuations. The EZClean 4100 keyboard has a 2 year warranty, with a 1 year limited warranty on the silicone cover assembly.
