Optical Windows for Use in Precision Analytical & Medical DevicesBern Optics Inc. announces the availability of exceptionally precise optical instrument windows as small as 0.2 mm in diameter. They can be custom engineered, ground, and polished to micron tolerances in a wide variety of submillimeter standard or custom shapes.

Created from optical and filter glasses, these microscopic optical elements—some as small as a grain of salt—can be produced with extremely high accuracy. Custom designed reflective or anti-reflection coatings can be applied to meet the specific requirements of the application.

Precision optical windows are often used as a protective element between differing physical environments, making them ideal for use in protecting fragile optical components inside an assembly. They are also used in spectroscopic, chemical, and color analysis instrumentation, as well as in endoscopic and other medical devices.
